Reserve usage simulation

On our club's home page we have an article from our session of simulated reserve parachute deployment, including two short videos.

Our experience from this test of reserves showed :

• A number of faulty deployments (poorly packed reserves, too long between re-packing).
• Several pilots unable to deploy reserve due to stuck Velcro's or wrong technique for throwing reserve / opening Velcro's.
• One bad construction of deployment system which was reported to the manufacturer.
• And not least: that a simulated deployment gave these pilots a chance to fix errors in a safe environment.
